Every now and then, the actual costumer has a great suggestion for a shoot – even better, they have the connections to make the location happen!
A lot of you probably remember the girl I set on fire. Well, here is our second shoot together – this time in the Black Knight Martial arts Center in downtown Atlanta. Miracole approached me saying she knew the owner and would let us shoot on the Matrix-themed Dojo that they built this past year. Even better, he even had matching swords for her to use. Now, this is a rare predicament indeed. The location is set, the props are ready, the costume is awesome and all the time we need to get some shots. How often does that ever happen? Pretty much never.
One of my first bigger shoots with my new 645D and my 35mm FA 3.5. Here is a wide shot with that exact setup and 4 lights in the mix. 2 Beauty dishes and 2 side lights in the far corners made this an awesome capture.
In fact, it was so awesome that it recently got a Daily Deviation on my Deviantart account – a spectacular trophy that I admire as an artist
Being able to spend a few hours without the thought of getting kicked out somewhere due to “she has swords”.. or “your time is up”.. or “are those thigh stockings?” is really a great feeling and made it a lot of fun. I really hope I get a chance to work with Miracole and Chris once again. (in fact, i actually will be pretty soon for an upcoming Comic Con ad! shhhhh)
